As expected, Samsung announced the new Galaxy S21 lineup at the Unpacked event 2021. Also, this year, Samsung announced three models of the Galaxy S21 series: the standard, the Plus, and the Ultra version, and this time, the entire lineup comes with 5G.
And as usual, Samsung releases its flagships in two variants: the first is for North American and South Korean markets, and it comes with the new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with a 5 nm manufacturing process, clocked at 2.84GHz (1x Cortex-X1 @ 2.84GHz +3x Cortex-A78 @ 2.4GHz + 4x Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz) with a 5G integrated modem, and an Adreno 660 GPU, while the rest of the world get the Samsung own Exynos processor, and this time Samsung used the new Exynos 2100 which is also a 5 nm manufacturing process chipset and comes with the same Cortex cores as the SD 888 instead of the Samsung own custom Mongoose cores, clocked at a little high frequency at 2.9 GHz (1x Cortex-X1 @ 2.9GHz + 3x Cortex-A78 @ 2.8GHz + 4x Cortex-A55 @ 2.2GHz), and it seems that Samsung has finally fixed some of its problems, especially the famous heat issue. The Exynos 2100 has also an integrated 5G modem and comes with the 14 cores Arm Mali-G78 GPU.
Samsung Galaxy S21 5G:
The standard variant of the S21 series comes with a 6.2" (~87.2% screen-to-body ratio)Flat FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, with a 120Hz fresh rate, HDR10+ support, 1300 nits screen brightness, and 421 pixels per inch (PPI) density, protected by the new 7th generation of the Corning Gorilla Glass (Victus), and certified as an IP 68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5 m for 30 mins). The front camera is an f/2.2 10 MP wide camera from Sony (IMX37) that supports Dual Pixel PDAF and can record videos up to 4K 30 or 60 frames per second (fps), while the rear camera is a triple-lens system camera placed in a new contour cut design, which is the only notable design change from the S20 series, that can record videos up to 8K at 24 fps consisting of an f/2.2 12MP Ultra Wide (120˚) that support Super Steady video shooting feature, an f/1.8 12MP Wide-angle Camera that supports Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS, and an f/2.0 64 MP Telephoto Camera that supports PDAF, OIS, 1.1x optical zoom, 3x hybrid zoom, 30X Space Zoom.
The battery on the Galaxy S21 5G is a 4000 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging, 15W Fast wireless charging, and 4.5W Reverse wireless charging, and the smartphone comes with One UI 3.1 skin interface based on Android 11 with 8 GB of ram, and two internal storage options 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 3.1, without an SD card slot, available in four colors: Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, and features Stereo speakers tuned by AKG, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C 3.2 port for charging and data transfer, Samsung DeX and Wireless DeX and ANT+, for a price starting at $799.
Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G:
The plus-size of the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with a bigger 6.7 inches same full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (120Hz fresh rate, HDR10+ support, 1300 nits screen brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus), with a smaller screen density (394 PPI), and certified as an IP 68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5 m for 30 mins).
The rear and front cameras, The amount of RAM, and storage and connectivity options on Galaxy S21+ are the same as the standard Galaxy S21, but it has a bigger 4800 mAh battery with the same properties ( 25W Fast charging, 15 Wireless charging and 4.5 reversed wireless charging), and it's available in six colors options: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gold, and Phantom Red for a price starting at $999.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G:
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the largest and the most expensive member of the Galaxy S21 series family, and it comes with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X edge Quad HD+ display with an 89.9% screen to body ratio, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ support, 1500 nits screen brightness, 515 PPI density, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, IP68 dust/water resistant certified (up to 1.5 m for 30 mins).
