In an event in Beijing, CHINA, Xiaomi introduced its latest flagship killer smartphone lineup, the Redmi K40 series. This series contains three phones in three beautiful colors (Glossy Black, Icy White, and Dreamland) with leading specifications and a very attractive and affordable price: Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 PRO+.
The entire series comes with a fully upgraded 6.67-inch full-HD+ E4 AMOLED display from Samsung with a 120Hz refresh rate display, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 1,300 nits of peak brightness, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution (~85.9% screen-to-body ratio), 395 pixels per inch density, and HDR10+ support protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This series feature also stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, Infrared blaster, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 port, Side-mounted fingerprint sensor, equipped a 20MP wide selfie camera in a center-mounted hole punch cutout that can shoot videos at up to 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, and 4,520mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging (100% in 52 min)with a total weight of no more than 196 grams, and comes with a charger on the box, but without an SD card slot, and runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11.
Redmi K40:
The standard Redmi K40 adopts the new 3.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G Octa-core processor, with 6 GB and up to 12 GB of RAM (LPDDR5) and up to 256 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1), and features three rear system cameras that can record videos at up to 4K resolution at 30fps, consist of an f/1.8 48-megapixel wide main camera (Sony IMX582 sensor) that supports the autofocus, along with an f/2.2 8-megapixel secondary camera with ultrawide angle lens, and a third 5-megapixel camera with a macro lens.
Redmi K40 price starts at CNY 1999 (~ €254) for the base 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant, CNY 2199 (~€280) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model, the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage option at CNY 2499 (~€318), and the top-end 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model at CNY 2699 (~€344).
Redmi K40 Pro:
The Pro model of Redmi K40 comes with this year's flagship processor, the octa-core Snapdragon 888 5G processor clocked at 2.84 GHz, with 6 or 8 GB of RAM (LPDD5), and up to 256 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1). It comes also with the triple rear camera setup with an f/1.9 64 MP wide main camera (Sony IMX686), along with an f/2.2 ultrawide 8 MP secondary camera, and a 5 MP tertiary camera with macro lens.
Redmi K40 Pro price starts at CNY 2799 (~ €357) for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant, while the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model is priced at CNY 2999 (~€382), and the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model at CNY 3299 (~€420).
Redmi K40 Pro+ :
The Redmi K40 Pro+ comes equipped as well with the Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor with 12 GB of RAM and 256 internal storage, with also a triple rear system camera: an f/1.8 108 MP wide main camera that supports autofocus (Samsung HM2 sensor), an f/2.2 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 5 MP macro camera.
Redmi K40 Pro+ van shoot videos up to 8K at 30 frames per second, and it's available at CNY 3600 (~ €458).
The three models are available for pre-order now, and are available for purchase from March 4 on the mainland, with no information about price or when they will be available in global markets.
