After more than two months of its announcement in China, Xiaomi finally announced its high-end phone series, the Xiaomi 12 series globally. Xiaomi was releasing its high-end phones under the famous Mi series name, but the company changed the name of this series to refer to its name directly.
As is the Chinese version of the series, the Xiaomi 12 Global Series contains three smartphones, the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the Xiaomi 12, and the Xiaomi 12X.
Xiaomi 12:
Xiaomi phone 12 comes with a 6.28-inch full-HD+ AMOLED Dot Display with 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 1100 nits pick brightness, 20:9 aspect ratio, 360° ambient light sensor. The display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and it's protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection layer.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8Gen1 processor with 4nm manufacturing accuracy, the new ARM-V9 architecture, and a maximum frequency of 3.0GB, and it is equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 non-expandable internal storage.
Concerning the camera, the phone comes with three rear cameras and a 32-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera (f/2.5 aperture) in the form of a punch hole in the front screen.
The rear camera system consists of:
- 50-megapixel primary camera with a wide lens and f/1.88 aperture that supports autofocus and optical image stabilization
- 13-megapixel camera, ultra-wide angle, 123-degree field of view, f/2.4 aperture
- 5 mega pixel telephoto camera, f/2.4 aperture, supports autofocus
The rear camera system can record video at up to 8K resolution at 24 frames per second, while the selfie camera can record videos at 1080p at 30 or 60 fps.
Xiaomi 12 runs on MIUI 13 Android skin based on Android 12, and it has stereo speakers with sound tuning by Harman Kardon, a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer, an infrared blaster, and a 4500 mAh battery that supports 67W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, And 10W wireless reverse charging. It comes with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and it's available in three colors: Gray, Purple, and Blue.
Xiaomi 12 comes in three variants, 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, in a price starts from USD 749.
Xiaomi 12 Pro:
Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display from Samsung with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling, 20:9 aspect ratio, 1500 nits peak brightness, 360° ambient light sensor. The screen is WQHD +, supports Dolby Vision and HDR 10 +, and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection layer.
This phone is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8G1 octa-core processor, with 4nm manufacturing accuracy and a maximum frequency of up to 3.0GHz, in addition to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage (not expandable).
As for the cameras, this phone comes with three rear cameras, all of which are 50 megapixels, consisting of:
- 50MP wide-angle camera with a Sony IMX707 sensor, f/1.9 lens aperture, and supports autofocus and optical image stabilization.
- 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 lens aperture and 115° field of view.
- 50MP telephoto camera with a 48mm equivalent focal length, an f/1.9 lens aperture, that supports autofocus, and up to 2X optical zoom.
The rear camera system can record 8K videos at 24 frames per second (fps).
For the selfie, Xiaomi 12 Pro is equipped with a 32 MP wide-angle camera with an f/2.5 lens aperture and it can record videos at 1080p at 30 or 60 fps.
Xiaomi 12 Pro runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and has stereo speakers (4 speakers) with sound tuned by Harman Kardon, a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer, IR blaster, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2. The phone is equipped with a 4600mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging; and it's available in three colors: Gray, Purple, and Blue.

Xiaomi 12X:
The Xiaomi 12X is the least expensive phone in this series, and it comes with a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 480 Hz touch sampling, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 1100 nits peak brightness. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, and it's also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer.
The Xiaomi 12X is powered by a weaker processor than its predecessors, and it comes with a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G octa-core processor, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB non-expandable internal storage (UFS 3.1).
This phone also has a triple rear camera system, consisting of:
- 50MP wide-angle camera with f/1.88 lens aperture that supports autofocus and optical image stabilization.
- 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.4 lens aperture and 123° field of view
- 5MP telemacro camera with an f/2.4 lens aperture and supports autofocus
The Xiaomi 12X has the same 32-megapixel selfie camera as its predecessor, and the phone can also record videos with its rear camera, with a resolution of up to 8K at a rate of 24 fps.
